Am I Going to Die?

On 29th November 2021, I went over to KK's resident to have my full blood test since he is doing one after 3months he started his medication for high-cholesterol and diabetic, I thought it will be good to 'tap' on to get some discount. I didn't know I needed to provide a urine sample too which I was too "stress" that I could not produce it at that time.

So on 30th November 2021 morning, I sent my urine sample to the clinic and that's when I saw the listed Health Screening Packages' Cost. Disappointed that I didn't get any discount and end-up having to even pay an additional Consultation Fee of S$35. Sigh... I don't even want to elaborate the poor service and disorganize Reception at the clinic!!

On 1st December 2021 1.00pm, Dr Zhang whatsapped me informing me the blood test result is out and there are some significant findings that he feels we should review it early and asked me to go down to his clinic on Friday/Saturday morning. I replied him, "Can we just do it over the phone?" and so he arranged a 5minutes call which he never say much but highlighting to me that my hemoglobin is exceptionally low and he is very concern. When we go thru the report, he mentioned "asterisk" but in actual, it's written as "L" in red. *Spank my fore-head* What a blunder is he?

At the bottom of the test result, it's written in medical term which really makes me go bogus understanding it... "RBCs show moderate anisocytosis. Majority are moderately hypochromic and normocytic. Many microcytes, some elongated cells, poikilocytes, a few target cells and polychromatic cells are present. No blast cells seen." I researched and find that it's anemia. And I do have the symptoms...

By 2nd December 2021 10.20am, I received a WA from Dr.Zhang...

I forwarded Dr's message to Dee and asked if it's necessary to do a CT Scan. Dee said to seek 2nd opinion and I in return asked him to ask Dr Phang from Bkt Tinggi, Klang. And somehow, Mee came to know about it and the whole 'nagging-drama' started... It kept me wondering why when I told Mee about my health issue(s) then she asked me to go seek a Doctor's opinion and then, when I started on test and actually visit a Doctor, she is against me doing a CT Scan when that's what the Doctor suggested. Initially, I have no idea how harmful CT Scan is and why Mee is against me doing it. When Dee visited Dr Phang to show him my blood test result, Dr Phang told Dee that why should I do a CT Scan, instead, I should be getting a blood transfusion or a jab. I was lost for words because what kind of doctor that gives suggestions but not actually give a definite answer to treat. Meantime, I asked Bro to also asked Maddy if she can give me the cost of CT Scan in Sunway Medical and also wrote to Sis to asked her to seek another doctor's opinion for my blood test.

The whole day, I was emotionally stressed, trying to juggle my work in the office and also to seek opinions from doctors and checking if my Health Insurance covers such a costly scan. Despite the information I seek came rather late in the night, I've confirmed to proceed to do the CT Scan at Radlink at about 5.00pm. YL told me that it's better to have a piece of mind to proceed with doctor's suggestion on the CT scan rather than dwelling over the cost of the scan.

4th December 2021, I was early to arrive at Radlink at about 8.30am and the clinic really screwed-up again!! I waited for 1hour and still no referral letter arrive. Feeling hungry, I whatsapped Dr Zhang and requested a copy of the referral letter myself. So, every thing got delayed by 1hr and I didn't know that after drinking the contrast (which some iodine is added), I still need to wait 30minutes. Luckily the scan only took about 15minutes. After completion of the scan, the nurse reminded me to drink alot of water and then only she told me that iodine is actually harmful for my kidney. NOW, I KNOW...

Payment time is a breeze... will have to wait 3-5 days to get the result though.

I prayed that it will be nothing of malignant and the low hemoglobin number 7.4 is due to my coming menstrual.

Aaaahhh... look at the scar from the needle!!
