Marley & Me : Book vs Movie

I generaly love the book better because it allows me to imagine what things would look, sound, smell like, on my own and it goes so much more in depth than you can even in the best of movies. But, the movie still brings things to life in a way that simply reading can not. It makes things seem more real sometimes.

Big Bad Wolf Books Sales

Sweating... *Phew* ~ Catching my breath...
Just got back from an amazing warehouse book sale. Took me 30+mins to get my books paid… hehehe… its pretty common. I don’t have much time to browse thru books at all. I just go hunt around for Kristen’s & my sister's shopping-book-list.

After 1 round that took me around 20 minutes searching for their books, I failed to find them. So, I went back to th only corner that attracted me upon my entrance in the first time; that was the long table with books stacked-up quite high with John Grisham, Stephen’s King & Barbara Taylor that are familiar to me. To my surprised, when I returned, the books stacked high is very low and some of the authors that are not familiar to me are finished! This author; Jodi Picoult was grabbed like hot-cakes and I managed to grab all the last 3 books of her. Sister said she read once her book but she don't like 'em. After reading each of the book's synopsis, I find it alright so I hope I won't regret grabbing them all. Hahaha!!

I couldn't find any Danielle Steel nor the other new popular authors … and just on my way to the cashier, I saw the "Marley & Me" book that I was planning to look for today. Since the book attracted my attention in KK's airport last month, I had wanted to get it. Once again the book just "called out" to me so I grabbed it. I'm very sure the book was not there earlier, someone must have put them back because there are some "dog-ears" on the cover and a few pages. Definitely not too good a quality but I don't mind.

Lucky I managed to get back into office by 2pm. Actually, I wasted around 15 mins looking for the location of the building and indeed I had wasted quite some precious time. If the map given would have mentioned Xerox; where I used to work, I would have not taken the other side of the road and make a big-circle from behind. Would have just gone straight passed Jaya 33 and take a right-turning. Also since I have quite forgotten the area after so many years, also my own fault too but it's an adventure to learn them back again... It's also pretty normal for me to get "lost" sometimes at unfamiliar places; as long as I willing to learn and remember them the next time, that's nothing wrong about it.

Big Bad Wolf Books rented a floor from this vacant building next to Kodak. After trying to look for a parking along the road, nothing available. Without wanting to waste more of my time, I decided to check with the Guard of the building because I could see from the road, there are ample parking spaces inside the building compound. And Pak-Cik Guard said need to pay him RM3 and I was like, "huh?" and I think the Guard "masuk" into his own pocket wan... Because, I actually parked at the Kodak's visitor's space.

Quickly make my way up to 2nd-floor, already see lots of people coming out with plastic bags full of books & magazines. Some even carting big boxes!! And it’s with air-cond. It’s quite nice to browse thru if you have the whole day. I saw people pushing their market-cart and books are pilling up in them. Even saw 2 people carrying the "guni-sack" type of bag; huge!! when I was lining up to pay for my books.

WwooHhoo!!! I’m satisfied with my purchase!! I bought 5 books for myself and 1 book for my sister. Just dissapointed that I couldn't get anything for Kristen.

I love the wolf-paw-print on the plastic-bag!!! Oh yea, anyone who reads my Blog and interested to borrow the books in my collection, you're welcome to let me know. You can have 'em anytime.

Dinner @ Manhattan Fish Market

Dinner with Jaime, Alan, Siau Wei & Yoong Han after a tiring Monday...
Everyone were tired & exhausted after the first day of the week kick starts...
I, on the other hand was all-up & non-Monday-blues when I got up this morning...
Decided to dressed-up and had been feeling all-positive and looking forward to the evening...

We departed and says our goodbyes...
And, I'm left with my own thoughts... once again...

I'm three-zero...

As the title describe...
I can't believe that I'm 30...
Not to say that I'm boasting about it...

It has been just another day at work today...
With the past few days being the long weekend...
Nobody did anything for me... as Dad is away to KK too...
Mom treated me to Sushi King last night but I wasn't in much mood to eat...
Even today at lunch, nobody suggested lunch but I decided that I want to have lunch outside of the Company and decided to head out for the famous char-siu rice... *yummie* and I returned back to office with a very full stomach... *chuckled* and in a sleepy-mode after the meal.
Just had dinner, Mom cooked my favourite "tomatoes stew porky" and since I'm still full from lunch... I had very little of it...

I'm not sure what will the years be install for me...
Joining the club of 30 with 3 of my closest friends, our last birthday-meal for Siau Wei already discussed about the "signs of aging". Hehehe...
I don't think we need to wait exactly for us to be on-the-dot-three-zeros to feel and experienced the differences that is/was going on in our life... It's obvious and indeed very obvious!

Looking back to a year ago... I can't help feeling that "awesome loneliness" lingering in my heart today. I guessed that's also the reason why I decided to blog... just to keep my feelings recorded and written out; one day... flipping thru the pages of my blog... I will know how I feel today...

Many women out day will die to get the youthfulness-look when they reach 40s and above. But, someone just think that I should "grow up" and "make up" and don't look like I'm a 20s. I don't think its a sin to have a youthful-look and I should give thanks to God for it!!

Confessions of a Shopaholic: D'Movie vs D'Book

Out of 5 Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series, I have completed reading 4 of her series books. And her 1st book was adapted into a movie; "Confessions of a Shopaholic" is screen in all the cinemas recently. Tonight, I decided to watch it and my initial intention was to have a face to all the characters in her writings. Of course, the genuinity still is the book characters and not the movie's characters. But to my shocked, the story line is so different as compare to the book!!

1) Becky actually got the £20 from Brandon in a conference and not in a hot-dog-stand.

2) Brandon is from Brandon Communication and not Successful Savings; and thus Becky never work for Brandon in the book.

3) Alicia supposed to be Brandon's personal assistant and not someone working in another Company and not Brandon's girlfriend in the book.

4) Tarquin already Suze's boyfriend in the movie. And I don't recall that Becky actually sold-off her bridesmaid dress after being taken away to be sold in the book? Further to that, Suze is never angry or upset with Becky ever in the book.

And the list goes on...

I think there are more differences from d'movie versus d'book. I do not understand how a movie can be adapted from a book with so much difference in the story lines... Just didn't expected this to come... The movie ended in a very funny way when Becky exchanges all her money from her auction into pennies and put them all in jars to leave them all in Derek Smeath's office. Of course, in the book, Becky actually did deposit her payment on a normal way.

I shall get back to my 5th series of her book...
