Mom's 55th Bday

Tonight's buffet dinner at Saujana Resort was very pleasant despite that my sister and her family couldn't join us but it was still fun to hang out with my parents. I had to celebrate my mom's birthday ahead of her actual date because earlier, I was supposed to travel to Sabah for work by 1st week of April but up-till today, it's still being postpone and futher postponed.

It's my first time having dinner buffet at Suria Cafe and personally, I'm quite satisfied with the varities of food and what captivated my first attention was the chocolate-fountain. And as I was browsing thru the salad and cold-dishes, the platter of cheeses make me squeak in delight!! I love this kind of cheese and it reminds me of the good times I had in Papua New Guinea for one of the Christmas Eve party I attended.

My mom loves cheesecakes, as I'm teaching her how to eat the platter of cheese with the biscuits, she told me its awful and I was so surprised, she doesn't know how to enjoy the good cheese or I should said the "rotten-cheese"... Hahahaha... But she had lots of the cheesecake tonight from the dessert corner and she ordered a Cappuccino to go with her cheesecake.

I chuckled alot with my parents tonight especially my mom's big day and she is feeling very jovious the whole night and at the same time, she is behaving so "cheap-lady" by eating unorganisedly... And I kept laughing at her as it could be quite embarrassing, she is eating main-course with the cold-dish and then, she will have a mixture of cold & warm on her plate... And the amount she eat, its always worth to spend buffet on her... kekeke...

My masterpiece while awaiting for my mom to finish enjoying her dinner...

As usual being the vain lady, she loves us to take her pictures but unfortunately I didn't bring my camera along... so, we had to do with the phone-camera. Yet another embarrassing moment to be as we are figuring out how to do the settings for both my phone-camera and my dad's. And, I have not seen my dad laughed & chuckled as much as tonight so I really do enjoy tonight's moment and I hope my parents do too... Mom being very lovey-dovey with dad as well and I feel like I'm the biggest-lamp-post *shy*

Injured Dusty

Poor Dusty, got injured at its right-front paw. We brought it to the Vet and get it bandaged... Personally, I don't like cats so you can pretty much expect me not to go too near of it in case it might just scratch me... It was raining so heavily on the way to the Vet. Dusty was meowing non-stop when it enter the car and thank goodness, I drove the Kembara so at least, Dusty won't be able to see the road and got all freak out by the movement. To my understanding most pets don't like to travel in a car... This trip really brought me back to the memories of how my Dad and I struggled to send the Basset Hound to my granny's place many months ago...

At the vet, Dusty who hates the place, continue to meow for its life occasionally... By the time the Doctor is able to check on it... that's when I noticed that Dusty is such a huge cat, compare to all the other stray cats on the street... It makes alot of different being a house-cat and a stray-cat... Well, it was a struggle to soak Dusty's right-front paw into the iodine & salt warm mixture to kill the germs, infections and to improve the blood-circulation... But when wrapping up it's paw, it allow the Doctor to do it without any hassle... I was thinking, how about giving Dusty a sling... so, it will be limping on three paws instead of four... Have you seen a cat with a sling?

The trip back for Dusty was a pleasant and peaceful one, being a smart cat, it knew that we are heading back to its home... Personally, I had never been to a Vet, other than the smell of it, I enjoy looking at the 2 dogs that visited the Vet and have some chuckled seeing their expression and trying to catch their attention... There were a Pug and a sly-foxy looking dog... Hope I can get a dog of my own one day...

Free Lunch

To my much surprised, received an email from the Manager informing us that those that had help out with the housekeeping of the filing system at the warehouse last Saturday will be given a free lunch; a token of appreciation *LOL*

So, a few of the other colleagues just wanna grab this chance to make sure we have the lunch by today itself... I find them so hilarious so I offered to chauffeur them... And at the same time, I do enjoy their joyful and chatter-box company.

Happily 11 of us enter this Tomoe Japanese Restaurant, with the budget given to us of RM50 per staff... we ordered each a set lunch and some ala carte side orders. And the funniest thing was when I called for the Bill, it came up to less than what I thought. But none of us actually had anymore space in our stomach to accommodate desserts. What a full lunch... Now, I'm feeling sleepy with the "unagi" swimming in me... Hehehe...

I have wrongly set my phone-camera to small size picture and as of a result, I have mini-photos here... My colleagues are all busy eating and refused to take pictures... So, I was being an idiot taking pictures of my own food and I couldn't resist not eating after a few shots.

A Message

A Message to My Dear...

As I was driving home alone from the game awhile ago...

I blasted the radio... nothing seems to cheer me up...
I felt something is not-quite-right but I do not know how to explain that feeling...
Right before we said goodbye, I felt something is wrong...
I felt that you're sad... Your eyes and your face expression tells me that...
I'm partly to be blame because I felt that I was not being honest about you...
I'm not ready to tell the whole world about you...
But yet, deep inside me... I still feel that the feeling is different...

After my shower, still wrapped in my towel,
with my wet hair dripping drops of water...

I sat down to start unwrapping your gift...
I love the way you tied it with the unique-ribbon...
And the challenge begin when I'm trying to unwrapped it as I always make sure I open my gifts beautifully with the wrapper still in good shape...
But tonight, seems difficult as again you have a unique way to wrap gifts...
As I said... It's a challenge itself... grinned...
My heart aches when I could not salvage much the wrapper...
Then, when I discovered the beautiful gift beneath the wrapper...
My heart melts as I see every single words and items on it...
Claimed not to be a creative person, doesn't seems to be true...
I was almost in tears as I had never received such a beautiful gift before...
I cannot wait till tomorrow morning to pop that gift into my car CD player...
A glance thru the collection, I know I will remember you thru it...

I'm sorry for what I had done and I don't deserve you...

Putrajaya & Cyberjaya

Today is a public holiday, so I had decided to get a wedding gift for a dear colleague of mine. Yesterday already planned to get the gift from Bangsar Village. Well, lately not many people will hang out at the Bangsar area and I think somehow, I love the quietness of it now. Anyway, I picked my dear up and we had breakfast at Bangsar. My first attempt on 'tosai' and this mamak that we had our breakfast happened to be a good one. And indeed it is...

Since it's a holiday, I prefer not to rush into everything and everywhere so I choose to take everything extra slow... hehehe... Went into the gift shop but don't feel quite comfortable because the lady kept pressuring me to get something beyond my budget. Of course, choosing a gift is not just simply for the sake of the budget, something must also attract my eyes and my heart, right? Anyway, I got a gift and a catchy card and I'm satisfied.

We head to Putrajaya next as I have not actually visit this place for leisure purpose. So, I'm curious to check out Alamanda Mall and of course some million ringgit bridges and buildings. Can't find the Mall so we stopped at Taman Warisan Pertanian for direction. And we were told, its just right at the corner... We grab our lunch here, this mall is pretty nice and its surrounded with a few parks and nice landscape. Just too bad the cinema is not open yet.

The main mission was to go row a 'sampan' and stay under one of the bridge to read a book at the lake. Somehow, the weather is quite disappointing... sunny and hot... it doesn't make me wanna walk much under the hot-sun. But, we walk a bit at Persiaran Perdana as I also wanted to check out the Cruise rate. Well, it's not that nice and its not that cheap either. Kekeke... Of course, we stopped at a souvenir shop to get an ice cream and asked for the direction to the Lake Club. We actually went rounding earlier to look for the Lake Club but the road just lead us back to Persiaran Perdana for the second time. We finally found the place and it turn out there is no 'sampan' for rent and with the hot weather, I don't want to canoe or kayak. I rather just chill out at a much cooler place. Next time, I had to make sure I do my home-work first before I visit a place, I feel so lost going round in circles... Just found this: Peep into Putrajaya

Since Cyberjaya is just the border, we decided to pay a visit and then, head back to Subang for dinner and to my much surprised, its raining cats and dogs in Subang. Oohhh... I love the rain...

Free-Shopping

Catchy title I have, don't I? Especially for those ladies' readers.*envy*envy*

Subject: Dress For Work
Date: 2nd March 2008
Venue: KLCC/Mid-Valley
Time: 9.30am

When I received the email from the organizer, I was taken aback that the Management actually decided on this since I did proposed about it a few months back. Kekeke... this sounds so cool...

I'm both excited and worried, why? Because if the Company decided to spend on getting staff attires, it meant business as well, right? So, lots of questions throw to the Organizer and of course, I was pretty much aware why I was selected among 50 over staffs from all levels.

Actually, I feel honor, because I'm selected to get free-working attires and who do not enjoy to be given free clothes?! Basically, the agenda goes this way... together with 5 other staffs which I'm the only senior Executive, we went to KLCC with the Organizer to meet up Jane; our "corporate-look" consultant. Met her before in every year-end dinner of my Company and she is a personal friend of my MD.

First, we had brunch and we settled down chit chatting about our dislikes & likes regards to fashion, frabics and personal grooming. Jane prefers us not to make-up and she thinks a touch of lip-gloss should do the trick. And if we do not know how to make-up, never attempt to try it unless we go for proper classes. Hahaha.. I find that so amusing. She mentioned that she is always crazy about shoes and when asked how many shoes she have, she replied with a chuckled, "I just thrown away 60 pairs of shoes" and I was asking her, "six and a zero?!?!" with my eyes opened-wide. And she nodded her head with a big grin.

Then, she started taking out all the magazine cuttings that she had collected from various magazines and spread it out on the table and show us and telling us how we should dress for work and important meetings/appointments. And she goes on to talk about the hand-bags and the shoes. Sadly, she also agreed that we should allow to shop for shoes/handbags if we did not use up the RM800 budget given to us to purchase 2 set of working-suits.

Actually, when she is telling and giving all kind of tips, I actually felt that, "hey, I do know how to dress up for meetings and appointments! It's just that the MD never see me in them because I do not have those meetings and appointments with him together!" sighed... so, I choose to think positive, instead of being upset about MD's constant comments about my dressing, I concentrate to be happy that he is paying it instead of me. Hehehe...

SO, I have NEVER in my life enjoy a shopping trip as much as today... And constantly reminding myself, its FREE... its FREE... its FREE... Of course, I let Jane picked out my first suit and then, she actually asked me if I like it and indeed I was because I had been adoring the design she picked out for me since quite a while back. Just that I never had dreamt that there is a day like today that I can afford to purchase one. Its a matching-fabric pants & jacket and I had to go hunt for a blouse to go with it. This is tough task...

Meantime, I started looking for my 2nd suit and I lay my eyes on Zara's designs and I selected 2 of it to try on. Still looking for a matching blouse to go with the pants & jacket, Jane came to comment on my 2nd suit when I tried on for the 2nd time. She also love it and I just had to get the Organizer to pay for it. The rest of my junior colleagues are still struggling on their 1st suit and I'm happily looking for a place to sit and rest while helping them to pick up some choices and continue to hunt for a blouse.

Finally! We got into MNG and my eyes saw this spaghetti-stripped leopard-skin prints and I asked Jane, "What do you think?" and she goes, "Wow! That's wild... but do you like it? You do wear spaghetti-stripped?" and I replied, "Its okie, I don't mind..." and in my mind, "well, since it's free, why not.." and then, I took it off from the rack and then, she browse around and she saw this earth-green blouse and she asked me if I like that too and I took it and try them. And then, she said, she love the leopard-skin prints so much more... than the earth-green. Hahaha... come to think of it, both of us actually have similar taste, yea?

At the end of the day, 3 of us got 2 suits each and the other 2 colleagues could only get 1 suit each. And we had to call it a day by dinner time because it's been tiring and I'm sure the rest has been cracking their head to think of what to pick because Jane kept shaking her head to their choices and preferences. To some point of time, both Jane and the rest are pretty frustrated as their opinions clashes. Before leaving and saying our goodbyes, Jane told the Organizer she will not proceed with the 2nd-batch of Managerial level because she is not up to it anymore... Pity her but I happened to had some quick chats and I find her a nice lady with excellent taste for the corporate-look which I couldn't agree more that my Company's staffs dressing is so much lacking of it. Except for some that really put me to admire their dressings at work but I can easily said, there is only one or two only.
